Ruairí O'Connor is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, advised by Dr. Philip Varghese. His research involves the study of low-temperature capacitively coupled plasmas using optical and probe-based diagnostics. In this effort, he applies novel uncertainty quantification techniques to the evaluation of experimental data, expanding our ability to develop and validate physical models of this class of plasma.
His work is affiliated with the PSAAP III program in the verification, validation and uncertainty quantification of plasma models applied to exascale simulations of an inductively coupled plasma torch.
